In January 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic changed our world. Universities around the globe had to cease delivering face-to-face classes and switch to remote teaching models, often in haste. The mass clamber to mobilise resources and to reimagine EAP delivery through technological means at such breathtaking speed has been nothing short of herculean, and realisable only because of the ‘pulling together’ and good will of EAP educators and administrators. With disruption on this scale and its longer-term impacts yet to be realised, it seems only right that the inaugural BALEAP TEL SIG conference be a place to take stock and to examine the role technology has played in overcoming these challenges and also to consider how it will continue to play a major part in EAP’s future.
