This is probably the best and most efficient way of keeping in touch with a very large number of EAP practitioners. Many professionals, whether they are starting out in EAP or are experienced managers of EAP units, find this possibility of easy contact with people and ideas very reassuring.

A regular highlight for BALEAP members are the one-day Professional Issues Meetings (PIMs), which usually take place three times a year on a wide variety of topics. Past PIMs have focused on The EAP Practitioner, Authenticity in EAP, Reading, Insessional EAP to name but a few – see here for presentations from past PIMs. Member institutions can apply to host a PIM with practical support from BALEAP.
There is a special member’s rate for attending many BALEAP events, including PIMs.
Members can participate in the TEAP portfolio scheme leading to TEAP Fellowship. While non-members can attend TEAP events, only members (individual or institutional) can apply for individual accreditation.
Member institutions can apply to become accredited institutions. BAS Assessors are also drawn from the membership.
Member institutions can advertise jobs, EAP-related events and TEAP training courses on the BALEAP website.
Each institutional or individual member will receive a paper copy of the Journal of English for Academic Purposes (JEAP). For new members, this starts in January and then runs for the whole calendar year. Members are encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting. Individual members and up to two delegates per institutional member may vote at the Annual General Meeting.
