As EAP practitioners, the quest to elevate our teaching methodologies and contribute to scholarly discussions can often seem daunting. How do we decide between qualitative and quantitative research? What innovative practices in our classrooms can translate into compelling research? This workshop isn’t just about choosing methods; it’s about refining them to the point of publishability. We’ll start by dissecting a research question, then collaboratively explore practical steps to transform everyday EAP practices—from analyzing student writings to conducting classroom observations—into research that resonates with the academic community. Participants are encouraged to bring their own research queries and will be guided to develop strategies to answer them, and to think critically about how these answers can be shaped into valuable contributions to the field of EAP.
