Tutor / Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes (Pre-sessional)

These posts are full-time (35 hours per week) and fixed-term until 29th August 2025. Posts are available in two teaching blocks:

• ‘June Entry’ / 10-week: *Wednesday 11th June – Friday 18th July, 2025
• ‘July Enry’ / 5-week: *Wednesday 23rd July – Friday 29th August, 2025

Positions are available for either or both of these teaching blocks. *Dates are inclusive of a compulsory pre-course teacher induction.

In the role, you will contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience by contributing to teaching, assessment, supervision (Grade 7) and administration processes, principally on the Summer Pre-sessional Programme, as requested by the EAS Manager/Head of SMLC, in order to contribute to learning and teaching objectives of English for Academic Study (EAS) in the School of Modern Languages & Cultures.

Please note, the Summer Pre-sessional Programme will be delivered exclusively face-to-face at the University of Glasgow campus. Applicants will be required to be available for on-campus work in Glasgow for the duration of the appointment and must have the required Right to Work permissions.

Please further note, a limited number of subsidized accommodation spaces at University residences may be available, subject to capacity. Further details can be provided upon request.

Job Salary & Benefits

Tutor: Salary: Grade 6, £33,482 – £37,174 per annum
Lecturer: Salary: Grade 7, £40,497 – £45,413 per annum
