We have an exciting opportunity for experienced EAP Teaching Fellows to join the Skills Centre at the University of Bath for our summer pre-sessional English courses. The pre-sessional courses prepare international students for progression to their chosen degree programme through academic language and skills development.

You will

* join a professional, friendly team of Teaching Fellows and Course Leaders.
* teach undergraduate and postgraduate students who are well motivated to develop their English language and academic literacy skills.
* conduct tutorials, attend staff meetings and standardisation sessions, assess student progress, carry out other administrative duties related to teaching, and undertake pastoral duties.

A full induction and comprehensive teaching materials will be provided, and you will work under the guidance of a Course Leader. There will also be opportunities for CPD throughout the course.

Course dates (including induction)

We are recruiting EAP teaching fellows for the course dates listed below. The dates include teacher induction days and time for assessment and reporting activity at the end of the course, which are paid and require full attendance. A pro-rata holiday entitlement is paid.

Please note applicants must be resident in the UK and available on campus for the duration of the course. Generously subsidised accommodation will be available.

10-week, Pre-sessional: 30 June – 12 September 2025
5-week, Pre-sessional: 4 August – 12 September 2025

Please specify on your application form your first and second preference of course (10-week or 5-week). Please note that all teaching fellows will teach both English language and academic skills.

Job Salary & Benefits

Weekly pay of £949.80 (gross) including holiday pay and marking supplement.

Generously subsidised en-suite accommodation on campus.

3. A student approaches you and is worried that they cannot write the course essay without heavily using AI. What steps would you take?
