Newcastle University London is a new campus in the heart of the City of London which delivers business programmes from foundation to PhD level. A wide range of programmes are delivered at the NU London Campus including postgraduate and undergraduate degrees, degree preparation courses and general English.
Newcastle University London is looking to appoint an experience teacher of English for Academic Purposes to deliver programmes to students on preparatory foundation programmes leading to University undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Job Dimensions
• Ability to teach a variety of students from a number of countries and cultural backgrounds and different language levels.
• Ability to assess effectiveness of teaching skills against student progress and performance.
• Up to 25 teaching hours per week (up to 600 hours pro rata annually).
The post holder will be a member of the Academic Team, reporting to the EAP Coordinator and Pathway Director of Studies. The post holder will have specific responsibility for teaching as allocated by the programme management team, and contributing to materials development of EAP Courses. In addition, the post holder will take part in standardisation and marking of assessments across the pathways. The post holder will also be required to support students as a personal tutor, and where necessary prepare academic progress reports, and UCAS references for students.
Salary Band D – £28,216.00 – £38,175.00 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, dependent on qualifications and experience.
