Job Details

The English Language Centre (ELC) is looking for a number of suitably qualified, experienced English language tutors to work on the following courses:

• 10-week Pre-sessional Course (English for Academic Purposes) (29 June 2016 – 9 September 2016)
• 6-week Pre-sessional Course (English for Academic Purposes) (27 July 2016 – 9 September 2016)
• Activate English Course (General English + IELTS/Cultural Studies) (April-September 2016)
• International Summer School for international university students (22 June 2016 – 5 August 2016)
• Suzhou Summer School (30 June 2016 – 26 July 2016) 
• Applied Education and English for Turkish Government Officials (18 May 2016 – 10 June 2016 and 4     July 2016   – 29th July 2016)                                                                   
• Various bespoke short courses (July / August)

The above periods include a three-day induction.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Pre-sessional Posts: MA Applied Linguistics / TESOL plus CELTA or DELTA highly desirable; substantial relevant teaching experience

• Activate, International Summer School, Suzhou Summer School posts: CELTA Grade A or B; substantial relevant teaching experience; experience of preparing students for IELTS would be an advantage for Activate posts

• Bespoke Courses: MA Applied Linguistics / TESOL plus CELTA or DELTA highly desirable; substantial relevant teacher training experience

Job Salary:

Pre-sessional 10 week Group Tutor

18 hpw teaching, 35 hours working week

£32,600 per annum, 1.0 FTE, pro-rata, plus a holiday pay allowance

 Pre-sessional 10 week General Tutor

18 hpw teaching, 31.5 hours working week

£32,600 per annum, 0.9 FTE, pro-rata, plus a holiday pay allowance

 Pre-sessional 6 week Group Tutor

18 hpw teaching, 35 hours working week

£32,600 per annum, 1.0 FTE, pro-rata, plus a holiday pay allowance

 Pre-sessional 6 week General Tutor

18 hpw teaching, 31.5 hours working week

£32,600 per annum, 0.9 FTE, pro-rata, plus a holiday pay allowance

 6 week International Summer School Tutor

16 hpw teaching, 31.5 hours working week

£32,600 per annum, 0.9 FTE, pro-rata, plus a holiday pay allowance

Activate Tutor

18 hpw teaching, 35 hours working; part-time options are possible

£32,600 per annum 1.0 FTE plus a holiday pay allowance; part-time options are pro-rata

Suzhou Summer School

16 hpw teaching, 31.5 hours working week

£32,600 per annum, 0.9 FTE, pro-rata, plus a holiday pay allowance

Applied Education and English for Turkish Government Officials

18 hpw teaching, 35 hours working week

£32,600 per annum, 1.0 FTE, pro-rata, plus a holiday pay allowance
