BALEAP Journal of Research and Practice

16 April 2025

Officially launched at our AGM on April 15th at our BALEAP conference, we are very excited to share with you our new

BALEAP Journal of Research and Practice

https://journals.warwick.ac.uk/index.php/baleap/index

hosted by Warwick University Press.

The journal’s ethos is to become the home to work related to research and practice within EAP. The journal aims to encourage the community to submit work of any genre which challenges and drives the field forward. We will also be home to future BALEAP conference proceedings.

The journal is open access and creative commons, trying to ensure that the work is as accessible as possible to ensure wider impact on and (trans)formation of the field.

We launch the journal with the proceedings from the 2023 Conference hosted by the University of Warwick. In the spirit of the journal ethos, the write ups in the inaugural issue are creative and sometimes playful yet challenge us to think about and to deconstruct our EAP practices.

Call for interest in joining the editorial board or the pool of reviewers

We are looking for an editorial board of around 6-8 people. Roles on the board are to be decided, it is envisaged that we at least need people to help ensure that the review process is collegial and dialogic – other than that, we are open to suggestions.

We will also need a pool of reviewers who are up for doing things a bit differently.

If you want to get involved with the editorial board, please email Dr Susie Cowley-Haselden your thoughts on what the journal should be and how you can help make that a reality by May 16th 2025. (No word limit and no specified format).

If you would like to review for the journal, please also let Susie know. She would also love to hear your thoughts on how this could be done differently.

No prior experience necessary, just enthusiasm and commitment.
