Job Details

Our BALEAP accredited pre-sessional programmes develop students’ language and study competence to enable them to perform well on their chosen degree programmes. These programmes have recently been revised to ensure that they meet the learning needs of our international students as they transition from their previous academic context into their chosen degree programme.

The Heriot-Watt Pre-sessional programme comprises four modules , each between 4 and 6 weeks in length. The number of modules students are required to take is determined by the student’s language level. Modules 1 to 3 are designed to develop the students’ Academic English and study skills, while module 4 focuses on developing students’ understanding of Research and Scholarship concerning English-medium tertiary studies.

In 2024, we will be offering a hybrid programme and a fully online programme. In the hybrid programme, modules 1 and 2 will be delivered online and modules 3 and 4 will be delivered on campus. In the fully online programme, all four modules will be delivered online.
